Bisquies are small bisque pieces that can be used by themselves or used as decoration on other pieces of bisque such as plates. When used as decoration generally they are held in place by a small drop of glue before glazing. This holds them in place as the piece is dipped in transparent glaze. They are then fixed permanently in place by the glaze when it melts in the kiln. For example, on a rimmed plate they can be put onto the rim to give a decorative effect. Since the plate is fired laying flat they stay in place during firing and are fixed in place by the glaze.
They can also be used as small pieces on their own.
